Mansuite and friends go to Mammoth

"Hey Michael, wake up!"

"Mrrpphm..not now."

"C'mon Michael, come play with me!"

"Go away California! It's too cold to leave bed."

"Get up! It's going to be a great day! First we can hang out in the sun, and go to the beach..."

"Shhhh. Shhhh. I'm enjoying my New England wintry mix and frozen streets."

"...and then after the beach we can go sailing, and then after sailing it's going to snow six feet and then..."

"Wait, what did you just say about six feet?"

And thus began a cross-country (and cross-continent for some) adventure to bask in the paradise called California.

We rented a tiny condo over New Year's and crammed in more people than recommended by CDC pandemic guidelines, not to mention the policy of the condo owners.

As it turned out, the only contagion breaking out and spreading like wildfire was dance parties

We spent most of our days alternating between sitting around

and careening down mountains to our almost-doom

Despite our best efforts, everybody survived, so it looks like we'll just have to go back and do it again.

Other highlights:

We started a band. So far all we have is the cover art, but that's all you need nowadays, right?

If you missed out, don't worry: We're definitely doing it again.

6:23 pm edit: I thought this might make an interesting comparison:

This is why I'm in France

The update is that I'm at extended space camp in France. The important part is this:

I made a 3 mushroom soup tonight*.
it was really good
it had leeks, carrots and shallots to make up a vegetable stock.

Then i sauteed 3 types of mushroom:

Crimini Mushrooms (delicious and familiar):

Chanterelles Mushrooms (succulent and exotic):

Trumpets of Death (dark, mysterious, expensive, fragrant, rich, evil):

I failed to take a picture of the soup but it was delicious.

*This was a few weeks ago back in early December. But it captures the spirit of my enthusiasm.

A MANLY MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE GRAND CANYON

I even found a reindeer! Naturally, I named him Kolin the Raindear (featured below).

Kolin and I made a snowman.

And then went hiking into the Kanyon..

Kolin took this photo of my shadow.

I'm also taking the liberty of pasting an entirely random photo below:

FIN.

Miss u, men. Write soon.
